Swara Plains Cottages sits on a gently rolling terrain with immense views and big skies that are so much a part of high savannah Africa's beauty and majesty. Initiated by David Hopcraft, a third- generation Kenyan and conservationist, he began experiments on Swara Plains with the support of Cornell University and the National Science Foundation comparing the advantages of wild over domestic animals. The Swara Plains conservancy and surrounding area is home to many species of plains animals including zebra, giraffe, ostrich, numerous antelope and many, many more.
